The things our mama's use to say I remember and hold dear to my heart like,"keep your hands out your hair chile", is something that she would say. LOL. Don't we wish we kept our hands out our hair?? When I was younger I had beautiful thick hair. Mama took good care of my hair.
One day I said "oooh I can't wait till I can do my own hair", and her response was "its just gonna fall out when you start messing with it." It turns out she was she right. The minute I was allowed to have full control and free range over my hair... boy did I take control.
I went from dying my ends to rinsing to thinking I was a mixed breed and just wore my hair curly. I even went as far as shaving half my hair off just because (way before it was cool to do). Shaking my head. Smh smh. That's all I can do now as I look back on all my former hair experiments. If I can do it all again I would of stayed in my mama's chair and followed all her old school habits (dax grease being one of them). Today as I look in the mirror and write this piece all I can say is "Damn mama said there will be days like this."

I know this blog is mainly about you ladies but I found this rather funny/interesting. As a guy, I can relate to exactly what you went through. Given free reign, young adults can and will do crazy stuff with hair. I've grown, permed(yea I said it), s-curled, etc to my hair. I'm just glad I made it out of late teens/early twenties with any hair left.
